Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding planner?
A venue coordinator focuses on managing the venue’s logistics — they ensure the space is set up according to your contract, oversee the venue staff, handle catering or bar services (if in-house), and make sure everything runs smoothly on the property. In contrast, a wedding planner works directly for the couple, overseeing every detail of the wedding from start to finish — including design, vendor coordination, timelines, décor, and troubleshooting throughout the day. Essentially, the venue coordinator manages the venue, while the wedding planner manages the entire event experience.
Day of coordination vs wedding management?
Day-of coordination and wedding management differ mainly in the scope and timing of involvement. Day-of coordination typically begins a few weeks before the wedding and focuses on executing the plans already in place — creating a timeline, confirming vendors, and ensuring the wedding day runs smoothly. Wedding management, on the other hand, is a full-service approach that starts months in advance, including planning, design, vendor selection, budgeting, and ongoing support, guiding the couple from the initial vision all the way through the wedding day. Essentially, day-of coordination handles the execution, while wedding management handles both planning and execution.
